The Central Queensland Irrigation Big Day will be held in Emerald on Thursday 9 November.
The line up (and topics) include a tour of three different Central Highlands properties to see and learn about the different irrigation systems found in the region such as bankless, pivot and pipe through bank systems, growers' perspectives on the design, development and day-to-day management of these systems, CSD variety trial, nursery irrigation tour and tree grafting, the latest information on optimising irrigation and nitrogen from CRDC-funded researchers (as part of the CottonInfo research tour: Optimising Irrigation & Nitrogen) and more. The day is free and open to all - lunch and refreshments provides. A bus will be organised to pick up attendees for designated stops in the Emerald West Irrigation Area, town and towards our first farm destination. Pick up stops and times will be advised closer to the date.
