The Australian Cotton Production Manual is published by CRDC and CottonInfo and is updated to incorporate the latest research and consistent improvements in industry best practice.
A critical reference tool for growers, the Manual is developed to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ guide to growers. It outlines all the necessary conditions in preparation for, and during, cotton production in Australia and also offers an understanding of cotton physiology and the important considerations for both productivity and profitability.
You’ll notice this edition is labelled 2026–27. Based on feedback we heard directly from growers at research panels, along with survey responses in late 2025, the Manual will now be updated and released every two years. This approach allows us to focus on meaningful updates that reflect real change in research, technology and best practice, while keeping the content practical and relevant.
The Manual also plays an important new role beyond the paddock. It will now be used as the foundational teaching text for the CRDC Cotton Course, delivered by the University of Sydney in partnership with CottonInfo and Cotton Seed Distributors (CSD). This ensures the next generation of cotton growers and industry aligned professionals are learning from the same trusted information growers rely on.
